Sling Specialists

Heliwest have vast experience wth all sling operations.  We draw from an exceptional team of pilots and ground support crew to complete a multitude of challenging assignments.  Our record of safety and reliability using a fleet of AS350 B2 and Super D2 heavy lift helicopters, Bell 206 Long Rangers, Bell 206 Jet Rangers and Robinson R44 Raven II's is impeccable and we have a consistent client base who have always been delighted with the work we provide.  Please see below for a few examples of the work we have completed.

BGC approached Heliwest to see if we had the capability to lift six 750kg chimneys into place.  We brought in one of our AS350 Super D2 heavy lift helicopters and with perfect accuracy, lowered the chimney into place through the roof with only inches either side; the pieces were lowered on top of each other.  This was an example of a difficult job made to look easy by the skilled pilots at Heli West.

In another example Heliwest was contacted by FESA about a communications antenna which needed to be repaired, located on the highest point of the Porongurups in a southern part of Western Australia.  Our helicopter made light work of lifting in the various sections to where it could easily be assembled.  This was another example of our versitility and expertise. 

Heliwest have conducted extensive survey and mapping work throughout the state.  SkyTEM is a high resolution time domain airborne electromagnetic (TDEM) method with applications in environmental and geotechnical investigations and mineral exploration.  Heliwest have vastly experienced pilots and highly reliable aircraft to complete this challenging operation with skill and precision.

Heliwest have completed operations with Fugro RESOLVE Airborne Services.  This electromagnetic data is collected by using a 'towed bird' sensor with proton precission magnetometers located in a housing connected to the helicopter by an appropriately long cable.  With this, and all other work undertaken by Heliwest, the client has noted the skill and professionalism of the pilots.

The Heliwest team always go through vigorous training to ensure they have all the skills necessary to complete any assignment.  Our surf rescue pilots conduct live static line retrievals on a weekly basis during the summer months.
